Food is Community.

The RNH Food & Farm Hub is dedicated to building a more equitable food system— one that balances the immediate food, health, and economic needs of neighbors with the long-term demand for community resilience.

In the northwest Bronx, 1 in 4 residents experience food insecurity and 14% of residents do not have daily access to fresh produce. This year, RNH’s Food & Farm has distributed over 100,000 pounds of food to over 2,000 people.

The Neighborhood Fridge

Take what you need, give what you can.

The Neighborhood Fridge, located on W. 256th Street and Mosholu Avenue provides free food, anonymously, 24 hours a day to any neighbor.

We work with local restaurants, school groups, individuals, and vendors to rescue food and prepare meals — simultaneously reducing food waste and combatting food insecurity.

Youth Farmstand

From June through November, stop by our Youth Farmstand on Thursdays from 1-6pm for seasonal produce, featuring vegetables from the RNH garden and regional farms. Sliding scale market bundles are available to ensure accessible pricing.

We accept SNAP-EBT, Healthbucks, FMNP, credit, and cash.

Community Café

Started by our Food & Farm teen interns, the Community Café is a monthly, intergenerational multi-course meal available for free to community members. The Café demonstrates something we already know quite well at RNH – food and conversation bring people together.

Save the date for the next cafe: Sunday November 23rd, 3pm
