Senior Program
The aim of the RNH Senior Program is to provide three groups of people opportunities to meet their reciprocal needs. For the homebound elderly, our programs help them combat isolation and avoid loneliness. This helps them remain at home and avoids a nursing home or institutional placement before it is absolutely necessary. For our senior volunteers, there are a mulititude of meaningful activities and a sense of belonging that help them remain active and vital. For the teens, it is an opportunity to help seniors while learning from a mentor and bridging the gap between the generations.
Telephone Reassurance Program
Personalized calls Monday through Friday, fully operated by volunteers, linking homebound elderly to the community while ensuring their safety and well-being.
Intergenerational Activities
Connecting underserved youth with seniors, bridging the gap between the generations and providing opportunties for mutual growth and support.
Senior Splash
Our annual Senior Splash takes place each June and provides a full day of summer fun for local seniors.
To volunteer, or if you know someone who would benefit from our services, please call (718) 549-8100 x128.
